The museum is definitely worth visiting before going to Ephesus, since it gives you a lot of context for the city and its history. Watch the movie. It's cool and only about 10 minutes. The computer animations and explanations are really interesting. Ephesus Museum in Selcuk, Turkey houses finds from the nearby Ephesus excavation site. Its best-known exhibit is the statue of Artemis retrieved from the temple of the goddess in Ephesus. The other museum with a great number of Ephesus artifacts is the Ephesos Museum in Vienna. The museum closed at the end of 2012, and reopened in November 2014 after extensive renovations.
